Abstract

The article postulates a reconstruction of the academic community, based on clearly defined criteria in assessing scientific work, as well as establishing relationships on every level based on mutual respect. The author concentrates on respect as the primary principle pervading the social activity of academics. This respect must first and foremost been shown in suitably formed communications and effective cooperation. The author places particular emphasis on doctoral students, who are most likely to experience a feudal relationship with authority and undergo symbolic violence.
