Pedagogy as a field of study and teaching qualifications

Abstract

The paper explains the scope of teaching qualifications of pedagogy graduates in light of the latest legal acts. The text resolves doubts faced by the current pedagogy students and university authorities trying to adapt the curriculum to the newest requirements. Analysis of the peculiar provisions of regulations leads to the conclusion that the latest requirements introduce a lot of chaos and uncertainty, thus starving whole groups of students of pedagogical qualifications. It is very ironic that, assumedly, the latest regulations had to sort out formally the matter of teaching qualifications. Conclusions are significant for candidates for pedagogical studies and the current students who plan their future in the work of a teacher. The paper explains which of the specialisations in the field of pedagogy and to what extent entitles the students to practice as teachers.
