Determinants for occurrences od friendship in child-adult relations based on the results of personal research

Aim of the study. The aim of the article was checking if it is possible for friendship in child – adult relations to occur and specifying its key determinants.
Methodology. The study was conducted on five children from early school education, who were supported by the same tutor. Therefore, the research was carried out based on deep study of individual cases that were compared with one another. Furthermore, analysis of documents, observation and interviews were also taken into account.
Results and conclusions. Research showed that the key determinant for occurrences of friendship in child – adult and adult – child relations is a child’s, as well as an adult’s, own set of individualistic characteristics. What is more, the conducted research revealed that the child – parent and parent – child relation and also the family situation of the child has a significant influence on the quality of child – adult and adult – child relations. The research also showed that it primarily depends on the child if a relationship between them and an adult based on the phenomenon of friendship will occur.
