Abstract

Purpose. The aim of the article is to present the theoretical framework and selected practical proposals of ecologically oriented social work.

Discussed concepts. The work provides a review of the issues of social work from an ecological perspective. This article cites substantively relevant literature, both by Polish and foreign authors. The work addresses selected theoretical and practical issues.

Results and conclusions. The content of the article is an attempt to unify the existing conceptual framework and practical suggestions of ecosocial work. The issues and proposals discussed are both an attempt to initiate a larger discussion on this topic and an act of considering the existing literature. The text also serves to indicate authors who have a significant impact on the development and fertility of this issue in academic discourse. The issues developed are an important element of reflection and debate on the future role of social work in the face of constantly progressing climatic and social changes on a global scale.

Cognitive value. The descriptions made in this article serve to initiate a deep dive into the issues of social work from an ecological perspective. The cited content is only a cut fragment of a broader discourse that requires popularization and consolidation in not only scientific space, but also in public and political space. The text can be treated as a sketch or a guide for further research, considerations and attempts to create a coherent and clear theoretical and practical concept of ecosocial work.
