Aim. The purpose of the study was to verify the differences in precepting the level of procrastination and efficiency in work during the pandemic related to the time before the outbreak. These changes were analysed to find the connections between them and socio-demographic factors.
Method.186 participants (75,8% of women) in the age of 18 to 62 (M = 22,39; SD = 7,84) took part in a questionnaire survey online between 05.06.2020 and 13.07.2020. The survey form had socio-demographic questions, 20 reliable statements about the level of procrastination (Cronbach alpha = 0,92) and 9 statements about efficiency (alfa = 0,87). The participants answered them on a scale from 1 to 7 where 1 meant less frequently/ less before the outbreak and 7- more frequently/more before the outbreak.
Results. The severity distribution of both tested traits were similar to normal distribution. Most participants evaluated the present level of procrastination and efficiency similar to the level before the outbreak. The ratio of people who experienced the increase and decrease of these traits were even. With the increase of the procrastination, efficiency decreased heavily (p < 0.001). Higher level of education fostered lower levels of procrastination (p < 0,01) and higher efficiency (p < 0,05). Students reported higher levels of procrastination (p < 0,01) but similar efficiency compared to those working.
Cognitive value. The study draws the conclusion that most of the workers and students do not see any changes in their levels of procrastination and efficiency, however, due to the dynamic situation of pandemic, it is worth to deepen the knowledge concerning those two issues.
