Knowledge management in the Independent Students' Union

Abstract

Aim. This article aims to show how knowledge is transferred and managed in the Independent Students' Union.

Methods. Described in the article, Ba Nonaki's model of knowledge conversion is shown using the example of an activity in a NZS student organisation. The flow of information at each step illustrates the transfer of knowledge. It is an innovative record of what works on a daily basis, framed in words and concepts. In order to better understand the functioning of the Independent Students' Union, the history of its creation was presented as an introduction to the organisation's activities and structure.

Results. Knowledge management is an important aspect of a rapidly developing world. Describing knowledge transfer issues in the NZS will provide an opportunity to look at them and analyse the flow of knowledge in the organisation.

Conclusions. This article presents a process of knowledge transfer that has not been written down so far. It happens in every cell of the Independent Students' Union. Communicating what many students who are in the organisation face on a daily basis can help to introduce innovative solutions to improve the way knowledge is stored and transferred.
