Abstract

Thesis. Article assumes that criticism plays an important role in shaping the educational
needs of secondary education level. Both positive and negative views expressed
in an appropriate form, have an impact on the improvement of work organization
and management of middle schools. It should therefore look at how they are used to
evaluate this type of education in Polish literature.
Discussed concepts. The article presents a spectrum of issues related to the review
of critical votes on middle schools included in the contemporary literature, with particular
emphasis on journalism news, web, radio and television. It also att empts to
answer the question about the objectives of the reform of the education system in 1999
year and its future in the light of the ministerial announcement of the liquidation of
the middle and return to the previous educational system.
Results and conclusions. Analysis of the literature showed that both the decision
to introduce middle school to high school system, and the decision on their liquidation,
aroused considerable controversy among Polish society. In the public debate for
nearly 17 years voice take both supporters and opponents of their functioning. However
it is certain one - rapid changes in the education system, not preceded by systematic
observations contribute to its destabilization and contribute to organizational
chaos in education.

Originality / value of the cognitive approach. In the course of the analysis of the
collected data quoted selected opinions of supporters and opponents of middle schools,
representing various academic, political and social. Eff orts were also diff erent sources
of information collected. Such an approach to the subject allows entry into the
interactions between the people involved in the educational process, magazine editors
paper and electronic, public opinion, and readers of this article.
